Creative and organized, Ms. Sorel  knew early on that she wanted to pursue a career in a creative field. She obtained a Media & Communication DEC from Dawson College in Montreal before moving to Toronto to  continue her education at York University. Excelling in her classes, Ms. Sorel  graduated with a Bachelor's of Fine Arts with honours (BFA), specialising in development, management and editing.

Journey

In 2014, Ms. Sorel started working as an event manager, honing her coordination and problem-solving skills by working with venues, performers, caterers and in high pressure environments such as live events. Furthermore, she produced promotional content at various events, restaurants, night clubs and for local clothing brands. This experience allowed her to get hands on and perfect her technical and managerial skills. All events she managed were sold out and exceeded expectations.

Two years later, she accepted a role as a production content manager for a technological company based in San Francisco. Her mandate was to create content for the platform being built by the software engineering team and bring awareness on how this application could create a better and more transparent environment for the beauty industry by innovating how to rate the performance of products.

Leading a creative team of over 10 influencers and video editors all over the United States, Ms. Sorel  developed effective tools to bring her goals to fruition. Over the course of 2 years, her team produced content every week and attended multiple conventions all over the America. She increased view counts and engagement by establishing a strategy that led the channel to the top of Youtube recommendations. Ms. Sorel oversaw the offline marketing of the company alongside the marketing associate for events such as BeautyCon, VidCon and PlaylistLive.

In 2019, Ms. Sorel returned to Montreal to work at an video agency, which allowed her  to work on content for big international and local companies such as Cirque du Soleil, Disney, YMCA, Victoria Park Medispa, Galerie LeRoyer, P + R Desjardins and much more. This gave her the opportunity to hone her storytelling and technical editing skills.

One year later, at the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic, Ms. Sorel realized that online marketing would be vital during this "work-from-home" time period. Ms. Sorel started her marketing business Solia Digital, which helps  companies across Canada move their offline marketing to digital platforms to elevate their existing online presence. From real estate to medical to engineering to charities, Solia Digital brings together many creative minds under one roof and offers all the essential marketing services.
